So, it's that time of year again...when Chi Flo puts everything into a new fall collection. Planning for the Bad Bones collection started in June of 2014. You may say "well, sure..fashion is always planned ahead; even a year in advance". Yeah, you'd be right. And Chi Flo is fashion, no matter how 'anti-fashion' it can be. It's clothing, it's self-expression. It is what it is. It is also a relatively small brand with BIG DREAMS and an even BIGGER attitude.
From leotards, to hoodies, to beanies, to pullovers, and crop tops, Chi Flo has your upper body covered. I am so proud of this line. It is so important to get it out there and have it shine the way it should.
That being said, let's talk about what's behind BAD BONES. This collection is an ode to the dark side as well as a celebration of staying true to who you are ; deeming it good to be bad all the way down to the bone. Filled with simplified, yet current and unique designs, this collection can be appreciated by anyone. I styled the pieces, bedazzled the ski masks, and went to work on a vision. The person who brought it to life, I can't thank enough...
The photo shoot and video shot by loyal Chi Flo Army member as well as photographer / videographer / creative eye for Chi Flo, Sam DeAngelis of SLDEAN STUDIOS, is truly a masterpiece. Sam went above and beyond for the filmed piece, and lost for words, we all watch the Bad Bones video..feeling cool, inspired, and more willing to join the Chi Flo movement than ever. I'd say that's a fabulous job done. Working with Sam has always been a pleasure for not only me, but my models. Eager to see what he's created, I can't tell you all the texts/calls I get in which the first sentence is "I can't wait to see Sam's shoot of us!". No bullshit, 'cause that's not how I roll. I'm lucky to have such a talented person in my life who can really take what is in my head and bring it out.
Coolest part of it all? It's the real deal. Bad Bones represents how I feel, how we all can sometimes feel. It's the embodiment of giving in to the dark side that lies within us. I'm tired of being GOOD. Where does that get me? Sure, being a good friend is one thing, that's a given. When I say BAD BONES, I mean the essence of just bringing to the surface what you feel inside of your bones.
LET YOUR BAD BONES SHINE THROUGH. IT'S OK TO HAVE THEM, AND YOU DO IN FACT HAVE THEM.
